Chelsea welcome back Ivory Cost striker Didier Drogba from Africa Cup of Nations
February 02, 2010 16:12 PM
Didier Drogba returns to boost Chelsea's title challenge on Tuesday before he is unleashed upon Arsenal once again.

Drogba will resume his prolific strike partnership with Nicolas Anelka at Hull as Chelsea attempt to open a five-point gap at the top of the Barclays Premier League.

'Didier will play from the beginning,' confirmed manager Carlo Ancelotti, who saw his team win all five of their games in January despite losing four players to the Africa Cup of Nations.
Salomon Kalou and Drogba are back, and Frank Lampard said: 'When they were away people spoke about us struggling. We've done well and now we will be even stronger.'
Drogba will be looking forward to Sunday's derby against Arsenal as he has scored 10 goals in 11 games against the Gunners and never lost to them since joining Chelsea in 2004.

Ancelotti will not be running naked around the club's training ground in Surrey after the January transfer window closed yesterday without Chelsea making a signing.

The Italian had promised to perform the forfeit if he went back on his word but said: 'No, I won the bet for sure. We don't need any new players.'

He added that Arsenal would be out of the title race if Chelsea could pick up six points from their next two games.

'It is a big gap,' he said. 'If we win this game, and on Sunday, then Arsenal have to run for third place.'
